Building for future, YAM seeks grant


If the directors of Yorktown Assistance Ministry (YAM) get their wishes, Yorktown may realize a new distribution center for the needy in the very near future.  
YAM recently submitted a grant request for $80,000 to Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC) for the purpose of building a new facility on the corner of North Church and Fifth Street.  The estimated total project cost is $262,200.
“And we have about 43% collected,” said YAM Project Manager Bill Tapp.  “Once we get the $80,000, we can start working on the building.”
