Hopkins commits to play football at UTSA


Cuero High School junior D’Anthony Hopkins has committed to sign with the University of Texas San Antonio when he begins college in 2015 after attending UTSA’s Junior Day event on Feb. 22.
Hopkins had 273 carries for 1,801 yards and scored 25 touchdowns  and helped the Gobblers go three rounds into playoffs in 2013.
He was selected first-team All-District 26-3A for running back and received All-State honorable mention recognition.
Hopkins will not be able to make his official commitment until national signing day in February 2015.
