It was the heart and soul of Patricia Blackwell Hedgcoxe to see history preserved as was evidenced by the many organizations she was involved in including her membership in the DeWitt County Historical Commission and served as chairman in 2011-2012. Hedgcoxe, at the age of 75, died at home from cancer on May 4, 2012.
Peggy Ledbetter, retiree and volunteer of the historical commission said, “Just before her passing, her family donated money to have theses books restored. The restoration of these books was a project that she was really in to.”
“All but 17 books have been restored with each page in a protected sleeve. Because it takes time we wanted to showcase what we have.”
