Cotman heads to National Spelling Bee, Watson places 3rd


Muriel Cotman of Cuero is the regional spelling bee champion. Brady Watson, also of Cuero, took third place at the event. Held Tuesday in Victoria, Muriel survived 44 rounds competing with over 2,000 students from 56 area schools. She will now travel to Washington, D.C. to compete in the National Spelling Bee.
Muriel, 13, is a home schooled student from The Acorn School. Watson is a 6th grader from Cuero Intermediate School.
