Billings to run for YISD board of trustee

Wade Billings has placed his name on the ballot to run for Yorktown Independent School District Board of Trustee.
Wade grew up in Yorktown and graduated Yorktown High School as salutatorian of the class of 1988. He attended Missouri Valley College, Victoria College, and The University of Houston-Victoria.
For the past 12 years Wade has worked for United Healthcare as a project manager.
Over the years, Billings has been involved in promoting and developing the youth of the community through various youth programs and organizations.
Billings said he is running for the position of board of trustee to ensure that all of the children receive the best education possible. He believes that Yorktown ISD has significant opportunities to improve and expand the education for the students.
He said, “I believe it is time for creative leadership that will challenge the status quo and bring new ideas to the table in a thoughtful and responsible way.  I believe it is in our children’s interest to not only make sure they pass a test, but also have the skills and character to succeed in life.”
Wade and his wife, Roni, with their son, Reagan, and daughter, Vivian live in Yorktown.
