Cuero loses first playoff game against Bellville


Both teams came out slugging, Cuero with 10 hits and Bellville with 11 but the score board leaned away from Cuero with their first loss in the best of three. The final score was 2-6 in seven innings on May 1 at Weimar.
D’Mond Lafond was the game’s losing pitcher lasting not completely through the second inning when Bellville scored 4 runs. Lafond had 3 walks and 1 strike out.
At the bat Lane Meade went 2 for 3; Clint Davis scored 1 run; Lafond went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored; Case Farris went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI; Levi Jones had 1 RBI.
Cuero will face Bellville on Saturday in Weimar for game two beginning at 2 p.m. If Cuero wins they will play a third game at 5 p.m. to decide who is bi-district champions and will advance to area playoffs.
