Playground open after revamp

After more than two long months of construction, the playground at the Cuero Municipal Park re-opened at 5 p.m. May 2 and the children of Cuero wasted no time getting to the park that evening.
“We have a beautiful train locomotive, a playscape for children ages 2 to 5, which kind of matches our caboose [near the playground],” said parks superintendent David Danish. “That’s how we kind of got the idea, [city manager] Raymie [Zella] and I. There’s a playscape for children ages 5 to 12. The smaller kids play on one side and the bigger kids play on one side. [...] We have multiple swing sets with ADA accessibility. Everything [for ages] 5 to 12 meets the ADA standards. We have a merry-go-round, climbing volcano, and a bumble bee.”
A familiar fixture also returned to the playground.
“The dinosaur that was stolen, we replaced it, it was never found,” Danish said. “That was an additional cost as well.”
