Yorktown High graduation Friday


Commencement exercises for the 2014 Yorktown High School graduating class will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 6, at Wildcat Stadium.
Victoria Vanessa Peña is the Valedictorian of the 2014 Yorktown High School graduating class.  She is the daughter of Adan and Annabel Peña.
During her freshmen year, Victoria was active in powerlifting, placing 6th at the State meet.  She played varsity softball and was named All-District Honorable Mention Infielder.  Her sophomore year, Victoria was a Student Council representative and was inducted into NHS.  She received 2nd Team All-District Catcher.   She also played volleyball and was named 1st Team All-District.  She participated in UIL Accounting and advanced to Regionals.
Her junior year, Victoria was vice president of the Student Council.  She was a member of NHS.  She played varsity volleyball and received All-District honors for Outstanding Setter.  She was named to the Academic All-District volleyball team her sophomore, junior and senior years.  She also played varsity softball and was named 2nd Team All-District Catcher.  She advanced to Regionals in UIL Accounting.
