Shirley Gips Moczygemba

Shirley Gips Moczygemba, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 after a lengthy battle with Crohn’s disease. She was born in Beeville, Texas to Frank G. Gips and Hedwig Mueller Gips. She moved to Nordheim, Texas with her family in the summer of 1943. She graduated from Nordheim High School where she was a member of the band and basketball team and later attended Durham Business College in San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert F. Moczygemba, brother and sister-in-law Norris and Louise Gips. She is survived by her daughter Gail DeLashmutt (Michael), son Frank Moczygemba (Tina), granddaughter Shannon Urdialez (John), 3 great grandchildren John III (Trey), Sallie, and Myles, and sister Gracie Wolpman (Manroy) of Yorktown.
She retired from Champion International Papers (Federal Envelope Company) with 38 years of service. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping in the tent trailer and in later years as her health declined in the motorhome. She enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and dove hunting. She was very organized and pursued her passions with great determination. She would spend months mapping out travel itineraries for summer vacations. She and her late husband also shared the hobby of metal detecting, bowling and keeping the property at Kosciusko looking like a park. Her greatest joy in recent years has been spending time with her great grandchildren.
Visitation and a prayer service were held Friday, May 30, 2014 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Holy Cross Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery.
