Marjorie Ann (Lemmon) Floyd


Marjorie Ann (Lemmon) Floyd, 84, passed away quietly on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at the San Gabriel Rehabilitation Center in Round Rock. 
She was born April 21, 1930 to the late Robert Gaut and Nora Jane (Armor) Lemmon, in Manor Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her only son, Dave Floyd, daughter-in-law, Rosanne (Janacek) Floyd of Lago Vista; brother William and wife Marcella (Kendrella) Lemmon, of Pennsylvania; a sister Betty (Lemmon) Caldwell; nephew John Caldwell of Colorado; nieces Kathleen Caldwell, Jacqueline Caldwell and grand-niece Sandra Coldewey & husband Preston, and their daughter Lorelei of San Antonio; grandchildren Jessica and Jordan Floyd; great-grandchildren Eric Floyd, Emily and Evan Janacek, all of Austin. Also, step-grandson Jason Wilson and Merrieh Fortner, children Brodie Roberts and Jade Corrireau of Leander; and Lisa Snead of Utah. She will be missed by family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Robert Armor Lemmon.
The highest ranking 1948 Honor Graduate of Export High School, PA, she attended Grover City College in Grover City, PA for a year, then enlisted in the WAC Armed Services.
WAC Corporal Marjorie Floyd served as Pharmacy Technician at the Osaka Hospital in Japan, during the Korean War. She received The Korean War Medal of Service. After honorable discharge in Feb. 1952, she was employed as Civil Service at the Olmstead AFB, outside of Harrisburg, PA. In 1966, she and son relocated to San Antonio, TX where she was employed at Kelly AFB until her retirement in 1993.
The family wishes to thank everyone with sincere gratitude the staff at The Parson’s House Assistive Living and Resolution Hospice of Austin, and staff at the San Gabriel Rehabilitation Center, Round Rock.
A family memorial service is planned for a later date.
