Charles Aaron Glover, better known as “C.A.” was born November 5, 1925, 88, and went to be with our Lord on July 11, 2014.
C.A. was the first of five children to the union of Emmitt Glover, Sr., and Bertha Bell Wilson Glover. Charles joined the church at an early age at Hochheim Church under Rev. Lucas. He later joined New Hope Baptist Church under Rev. L.V. Ford. C.A. served as Deacon & Treasurer under the leadership of Rev. Samuel A. Jenkins. He worked at the Thomas-Friar Ranch for 50 years and was a member of Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge, and the Evergreen Chapter for 20 years. On November 4, 1950, he married his wife, Marlene DuBose, and remained married for 63 years. There were no children to this union, but they helped raise many nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews, who they loved as their own. C.A. loved to hunt and fish and was a cowboy from a very young age. His favorite pastime was watching ESPN and Rodeos, and if you knew him, you know that he never went anywhere without his overalls and boots.
Left to Cherish his memory is his loving wife; sisters, Jearlean Shullar (Collins L.) of San Antonio and Joyce Viola of Houston; many nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby Glover; and brothers, Alvin Glover and Emmitt J. Glover, Jr.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 18, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at L.E. Meador Encampment Grounds with Rev. Lawrence G. Roy officiating. Interment will follow at Lockhart Community Cemetery.
