Levi Charlie “L.C.” Thiele

Levi Charlie “L.C.” Thiele, 93, of Yorktown, passed away Friday Aug. 22, 2014. He was born April 25, 1921, in Kyle to the late Herman and Cleora Calk Thiele. He was a faithful member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Yorktown.
After graduating from Kyle High School, he worked at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, prior to the outbreak of WWII, he spent 18 months in England. Upon his return he joined the Navy and was in the Pacific Area. He was discharged in 1946 and returned to his work in Civil Service where he remained throughout his working years. He married Zella Ann Chalk in 1947 in Kyle. His interest in ranching led them to Yorktown in 1972 and permanently move here in 1978.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Zella Ann Thiele of Yorktown, daughter Deborah (David) Thomas of Dallas and son Clifford (Krista) Thiele of Yorktown, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Roger Thiele, sister Charlene McCuistion and nieces and nephews.
L.C. was preceded in death by his parents, brother Herman Thiele and sister Marjorie Worley.
Visitation was held Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Massey Funeral Home. Graveside services were held Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Mission Park South in San Antonio.
