Chamber extends sincere gratitude

Dear Editor,

The Cuero Chamber Commerce Agriculture & Visitor’s Bureau would like to extend a big thank you and sincere gratitude to our members and community for participating in our first Christmas Tree Decorating Contest, can food drive and silent auction. We had 12 Chamber members compete for best decorated tree and we were able to donate over 2,300 non-perishable food items to the C.A.M.A.L House!

Votes were counted by number of likes on Facebook, ballots and donated non-perishable items. Cuero Regional Hospital placed first with number of likes, and ballots. They also did a fantastic job of collecting over 2,000 non-perishable items!

Brenda Martin, RRT, Cuero Health’s Champs Coordinator and Cuero Chamber Board member help organized decorating the tree and collecting can goods. Other contributors in the can food drive, She Brews and Cuero Vet Clinic.

The beautiful decorated Christmas Trees were displayed in our future Chamber/Visitor Bureau location for visitors to view during Christmas in Downtown. They were also available for silent auction. Proceeds went to help start a building fund for future renovations on our new building. The artificial trees were donated by Cuero Main Street. We sold nine trees raising over $1200! Two trees were donated to families in need and delivered to them just in time for Christmas.

Be Boutique tree sold for the most and was purchased by an anonymous donor and donated to a single father raising four sweet beautiful little girls. The Chamber donated one of the unsold trees to another family in need. Thank you to Dawn Green from Cuero ISD for assisting us in finding the families. The hospital will receive $100 off of their 2021 chamber membership, a trophy and traveling Christmas tree for best decorated tree. Be. received a marketing package valued over $500 sponsored by Building Brand Marketing and The Cuero Record for the tree with the highest bid.

Members that participated were; Cuero Regional Hospital, Trust Texas Bank, Inspire Boutique, She Brews, Cuero Vet Clinic, Cuero Pecan House, Be. Boutique, Rendezvous Boutique, Partners Chevrolet Buick GMC, The Spinning Top, Chica’s Beauty Salon, Main Street Promotions Committee.

The past year has definitely been different, and difficult but Cuero remains a resilient community and rallies together to keep us Cuero Strong! The Cuero Chamber of Commerce greatly appreciates your support to the Chamber and local businesses this holiday season! We wish you all a very blessed New Year!
