Cuero Chamber of Commerce thanks community for purse bingo support

Dear Editor,

The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank everyone who attended our Designer Purse Bingo fundraising event Thursday, Feb. 13 at the VFW Hall. We had 29 VIP tables and several individual ticket holders bringing our total to nearly 350 in attendance.

Guests enjoyed BBQ Frito Pie catered by Smolik’s BBQ, a variety of desserts, snacks and beverages. Pre-event and intermission entertainment was provided by the musical talents of Devyn Whittington. Brian Gomez from Cuero State Farm Insurance kept us entertained with his wit and charm emceeing the bingo event. Thank you to the Miss Cuero Court for modeling the purses.

Attendees got to play 15 games of bingo. One of the games was designated to VIP tables that decorated their tables. A special award was also present to best decorated table. All VIP tables judged who they thought the best decorated table was. The winners were the Golden Girls from Lolita, they received the “Flamazing Golden Flamingo Award”.

A silent auction was held bringing in $1300! Thank you to the following that donated silent auction gifts and purses to the bingo event: Mark & Shay Iacopenelli, Guy Dolan, Dolan Rental Properties, Sandy and Rob Lassman, Emily Montgomery with Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, Courtney Moore LMT, A Special Stitch, Acenet Davis, Jon Eric & Ashley Rodriguez, Sandra Osman, Theresa & John Garoni, Willis & Brittany Braden, Friends on Main, Stephanie Nerada, and Be.

Thank you to the VFW, and Bingo Caller Perry Vernon for a great night. The Designer Purse Bingo Event is a one of the major fundraisers the Chamber of Commerce holds every year to help raise funds assisting the Chamber in carrying out its mission of providing leadership and business development programs in the community along with scholarship projects for Citizen of Tomorrow and Miss Cuero.

We greatly appreciate the support that we have received. A Big thank you to our Chamber Board of Directors and Administrative Assistant Heather Dolan for all their hard work. We are looking forward to planning next years event!
