DeWitt County Deputy Santa asking for toys, donations to help area kids
It’s that time of year again. The DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office will be sponsoring the Deputy Santa program for the needy children of this county. The last 24 years that Deputy Santa has been in operation have been a great success. We have helped many children in our county have a wonderful, merry Christmas. We wish to continue to provide for the children in need throughout DeWitt County. Our efforts have taken us from one end of the county to the other and throughout all of our communities. We would like to thank all of our contributors from the past 24 years and we hope their donations along with any new donations this year will help satisfy the needs of the children in our community. We are asking parents to sign up their children ages 16 and under.
We are asking or any new and unwrapped toys or wrapping paper to benefit our cause. Donations can be brought to the DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office at 208 E. Live Oak, Cuero, or Yorktown City Hall at 119 E. Main St., Yorktown, at any time before Dec. 14. Any monetary donations may be mailed or brought to us at any time. Please make checks payable to “Deputy Santa”. There will also be a toy dropoff donation box at Eling Corporation Real Estate, Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Co., and the Juvenile Probation Office.
