Finding blessings

Dear Editor,

The truth is that you can always find blessings, even in the midst of tragedy. Most people did not even know that I had experienced personal loss, the death of my brother, the day before the event. I want everyone to know that Tri-City Empowerment Council has an amazing team, generous sponsors and wonderful volunteers and because of this the event went on in my absence with great success.

Tri-City Empowerment Council would like to say thank you to all who helped make the 5th Annual Ethosha Lynn’s Back to School Bash a success.

Special thanks to our event planner Drosto Montgomery, Mayor Sara Meyer,  Eric Basaldua & the Wells Fargo team, Morris Hopes & HEB Tournament of Champions, Walmart, Shane & Rene Wilke -Total Entertainment, Diamond K Service, City of Cuero, GVEC, David & Susie Sparks, Mike Weaver, Margie Lassman, Linda Miller, Diana Sebastian, Sherre’ Ernster, Anchored in Jesus, April Hanson, Mira Karisson, Kalle Persson, Azalea Garcia, Arkiea Holman and the entire Back to School Bash Volunteer Committee.

We were able to bless 300 kids with backpacks the day of the event on Aug. 10 and we also were able to give out 90 additional backpacks the following Saturday after my brother’s funeral. So, it is with extreme appreciation & gratitude that I send this Thank You to everyone for helping keep my daughter’s dream alive and helping  our community! “It takes a village”… We are that Village!

Deepest Gratitude,

Viola Holman
