'Heartfelt appreciation'

Bargmann thanks those for support with fundraiser

Dear Editor,

I want to write to express my most sincere appreciation for our Yorktown Community. I was the leader of our Denim and Diamonds Fundraiser and throughout the whole process I have learned more about what it means to belong to a small town that supports one another. I want to extend an extra special thank you to the whole Gala Committee, Miranda Arguellez, Beverly Bruns, Jenni Deihl, Kaci Dudenhoeffer, Kasey Flores, Jennifer Franke, Patti Harbers, Mariann Klein, Erin Koopmann, Lisa Krueger, Dorothy Mayfield, Donna Roeder, and Penny Seivers. We have been planning this since March 2019 and it has been a roller coaster of a ride. We appreciate Gruenau Hall, 5D Steakhouse, and Cindy Matejek for being flexible and understanding as they rode alongside us.

Our table sponsors helped us make this fundraiser possible. They are Bill & Charlotte Baker, Russell & Sarah Bargmann, Layne & Edie Boyd, Citizens Bank, JoAnn Cornelius, Jeff & Drenda Hall, Massey Funeral Home, Robert & Marilyn Meischen, Nitro, Norvell’s Dozer & Ag Services, Penny Sievers, Scott & Kim Smalley, Spirit of Texas Bank, Kim Warren, William & Ann Warwas, Mark & Betsy Weischwill, and Yorktown Historical Society. We also received generous cash donations from Don & Debbie Roeder, Skinny’s Fireworks, Robert & Norma Schendel, Bill & Carolyn Bargmann, Pierce Insurance, Jerry & Mary Steves, and Joann Cornelius. This fundraiser would also not have been possible without all our item donations and auction participants who are too numerous to mention here, but are just as important and appreciated by all.

The three organizations have big plans for the funds that were raised. The Yorktown Historical Society has already completed work on the new elevator that makes the second floor of the Yorktown Museum Handicap accessible. Keep Yorktown Beautiful has replaced the wooden planters downtown with new concrete planters and they continue to maintain the city park and flowerbeds around town.

The Friends of the Yorktown Public Library will be updating the technology in the children’s section of the library and with the leftover funds, they have decided to work on the beautification of the outside of the Library. We are all grateful for the very generous community that we feel honored to be a part of, thank you all!

With Heartfelt Appreciation,

Sarah Bargmann
