McCurdy commends community squad
Dear Editor,
To the community of Cuero:
I would like for all of you to be aware of some valuable workers in our community who have been sorely missed during this pandemic. I’m referring to the community squad from the Stevenson Unit. Pat Koenig and I work with these men as part of a Victoria County Masters Gardners’ project at the DeWitt County Historical Museum. They used to come once a month and did a wonderful job of taking care of the yard there. I know the squad is also very much missed at the Little League Baseball Park. They always took pride in how the fields looked after they worked there. These men have also been instrumental in the past in setting up Christmas in the Park as well as working in other places in Cuero and surrounding counties. I know I won’t be the only one who will welcome them back into our community when they are allowed to be with us.
Mary McCurdy
