'Thank you for your patriotism'

Dear Editor,

We, Post 8136 and Auxiliary want to thank all of you, that contributed money, time and energy to our project of getting new American flags for our downtown Main Street and the Vietnam memorial. Flags were given in Honor and in Memory of.

In Honor of: Lee Magruder, Sgt. John Wayne Schultz US Marine Corp., The Rubac Brothers: J.D. and Jerry Edward, Dr. W.E. McAda, Gerado Zuniga (Primo), and Jose R. Zuniga, Vernon Lee Jones, Navy-Desert Storm, Ralph Marsello, WWII and Korea, All who Serve to protect us, DeWitt County Men who served.

In Memory of: Alton Ray Jalufka, Alvin Domann, Bill Budge and Carrol J. Bruns, Daniel and Janet Cooper, David A. Hoefling Sr. Ret. M/Sgt. USAF, Donald Issac Peters Lt., Edward William Roeder 1st Lt., Elmo Weischwill, Emil Geffert Army WWII, F.C. and Viola Sinast, George Matejek, George W. Robinson Re. M/Sgt. USAF Vietnam, George von Roeder Sgt., John Barth M.D. Capt., Julius Gohmert, Lester Onken, Lovel A. Blain. Jr., US Navy WWII, Marcellus Weischwill, Marvin F. We will continue to receive donations in memory of, or in honor of your loved ones.

They, the flags, will be posted at a later date for those of you who wish to honor or memorialize. Our city and Vietnam Memorial look beautiful with flags flying during holidays.
