Tocker Foundation library grant, nearly $100,000 in total grant money

Dear Editor,

The Cuero Public Library wishes to thank the Tocker Foundation for their generous donation of $49,900 to purchase new furnishings in our Junior/Young Adult sections in the Cuero Public Library. Their generosity in both the past and present has made it possible for our library to have many new furnishings, technologies, and books made available for our patrons over many years.

Phillip and Olive Tocker endowed the foundation with their estates in 1993 and 1994. After years of supporting a wide range of community- based causes, the foundation discovered a need in small, rural Texas libraries serving populations of 12,000 or less.

In 1992 the foundation board decided to focus grant distributions in this way. The foundation partners with community libraries to meet the particular needs of the community.

We, and other communities, whose needs have been met are very grateful and blessed to have the Tocker Foundation’s unwavering commitment and selfless actions of kindness poured out upon us.

Thank you, once again,

Lynn Mixon
