Wildflower Art Gallery complete
Sandra Tague Osman
Main Street Manager, City of Cuero
The Cuero Main Street Promotions Committee is proud to present the completion of the Wildflower Art Gallery in Art Alley, located behind City Hall in the utility alley off N. Gonzales. Many thanks to committee members Lisa Waterbury, Lisa Corporon, Shamika Armstrong, Katelyn Corporon and Angie Cuellar, with special thanks to a lady who wears many hats, Caroline Hawes.
Connie, as she’s known to everyone, is the Promotions Committee Chairperson, the City of Cuero Finance Director and partnership owner, along with City of Cuero Accounts Manager Lisa Waterbury, in the Downtown business Crafty Chics, 106 N. Gonzales.
With the special art talents she brings to her painting, crafting and scrap booking business, Connie spearheaded the final push to complete the wildflower mural in time for Cuero Main Streets 7th annual Christmas in Downtown event, much to the delight of the Trackless Train passengers. As the Wildflower Capital of Texas, Cuero Main Street, the Chamber of Commerce and the Dewitt County Promotions Committee share the excitement for the upcoming wildflower season!
All eyes should be looking for our soon-to-be Downtown wildflower historic light pole banners and the currently available tear-off Wildflower Maps and Lanes & Byways Guide to DeWitt County Wildflowers, available at the Chamber of Commerce office, located at 210 E. Main Street, Cuero.
The season opening for the Downtown Farmer’s Market Days under the Library Market Pavilion kicks-off on the 4th Saturday, March 28th, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m, with music, crafts, food and activities dedicated to wildflowers! Crafty Chics will be offering a painting class at the Library to include 2 wineglass for Bluebonnet décor from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for $25, spaces limited.
Follow Cuero- Main Street-Certified Page for upcoming details on this and other offered craft classes. But no need to wait for February, March and April to celebrate spring wildflowers!
Plan a selfie photo session for students, friends, families and coworkers and post your favorites to #cueromainstreet for all to enjoy.
