Yorktown Western Days Association grateful for support

Dear Editor,

The 61st Yorktown Western Days has come and gone. I am sure that many of the memories that were made will last a lifetime. As many attendees have commented on what a great tradition this 3 day weekend is, a reunion and family friendly event. The Yorktown Western Days Association(YWDA) spends countless hours ensuring that the family festival has something fun for everyone.

The board of directors of the YWDA are extremely grateful for the support of our sponsors at any level of cash contributions and in-kind support. The time and effort from our volunteers dedicated during the event do not go unnoticed and their commitment toward the success of the festival is greatly appreciated.

As we move forward towards making plans for the 2020 event the following board of directors for 2019 should be complimented on a great event: Troy Alvarez-President, Wesley Clayton-Vice-President, Chad Buesing-Treasurer, Glenn Treybig-Co-Treasurer, Peggy Savage-Secretary, Debbie Yount-Reporter, Directors Lydia Lampe and Blanca McBride and Office Administrator-Lorene Migura.

These individuals and their families have earned the appreciation from all those that enjoy Yorktown Western Days for their sacrifice and dedication so attendees can have fun and enjoy many memories for years to come. As we prepare for the 62nd Yorktown Western Days, please consider contributing as a sponsor or a volunteer for next year’s event.

The community benefits from this event as it financially impacts our community as we welcome many outside visitors to our community and your sponsorship dollars help welcome our many guests by showing your support. Volunteers are needed throughout the weekend in many aspects. Consider donating a couple of hours or so during the weekend or leading up to or following the event. Your contribution towards our “hometown festival” is an investment in your community.

Proceeds from Yorktown Western Days benefits the youth of our community through donations made through Cowboy Claus, Shattered Dreams, Project Graduation, Local FFA & 4H programs, Scholarships, Miss Yorktown Scholarship Pageant and more.
