This week’s Neighbor spotlight focuses on Jody Hall, a bright go-getter that enjoys spending her time helping out the Yorktown youth and community as much as she can. Hall is an ER Nurse working at Cuero Regional Hospital, President of the Yorktown Little League, and President of the Cats organization, a parent-led group working to give back to teachers at the Yorktown Junior and High schools.

The giving doesn’t stop there; Hall is also part of Keep Yorktown Beautiful and is Secretary of the Yorktown ISD School Board.

“I love to volunteer, I love to do what I can for the kids,” she stated during an interview. “This town is great about following kids–they really support them and it’s amazing.”

“Six or seven years ago, I told my mom ‘You know, I’m supposed to be doing something’– and then Youth football came around and it lead to all of these great things.”

After working with football, Hall turned her attention to the Yorktown Little League organization and put efforts towards raising money for field renovations in 2017. Hall explained that she worked with various organizations in Yorktown to apply for a grant from GVEC to make the renovations happen.

“I had to go to the Athletic Director, the Chamber, the Mayor–you have to have a lot of different components [like] drawings and ideas.”

With the renovations completed by various donors of money and time, Hall was excited to talk about how the fields came to light, along with being able to add a pavilion and batting cages that can be used by YISD and the community alike.

“It’s just a good family area– a good safe place to be. So, it’s probably the biggest tangible thing that I’ve got to be a part of,” admired Hall.
