These Christmas Stockings have “Gone to the Dogs”

Body
Pet Adoptions of Cuero hosted a Christmas event recently for the children that belong to the Happily Homeschooled organization. The group’s director Kimberly Lapp came by in November to collect all the empty Christmas stockings that were hung outside each pet’s kennel. The school group purchased toys, treats, pet blankets and goodies galore to fill each stocking. The children, ages 3 to 13, arrived with all the “named” packets and had a fun afternoon finding their chosen pet’s kennel to hang their stuffed holiday stocking. It was a delight for the students to meet the orphan pet they were gifting with some toys and chews that are not normally in the shelter’s budget. The highlight of the event was catering by Sugarplum’s Sweets Shop with some gorgeous cupcakes and best of all “paw” print cookies. On Christmas morning, there will be some very happy homeless (for now) canines getting some new chews and toys thanks to this caring group of homeschooled children and their parents.
