First Presbyterian Church to host Tri-Church Worship Service

First Presbyterian Church of Cuero’s Chapel Without Walls will be the host location for the quarterly “Tri-Church Worship Service” on Jan. 22 starting at 10:30 a.m., weather permitting. The Tri-Church worship service is a partnership of three churches, including Grace Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church of Cuero, and First United Methodist Church.

DeWitt County Vietnam Veterans scholarship contest for HS seniors

The Vietnam Veterans of DeWitt County are holding a scholarship contest for DeWitt County high school seniors, including homeschooled students. Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the class of 2023. The deadline for turning in completed applications will be March 31, 2023, and they can be turned in to the school guidance counselor or at the principal’s office. Home-schooled students can mail their applications to the DeWitt County Vietnam Veterans of America, 520 Ave. B., Yorktown, Tx 78164. Information packets can be picked up at the Yorktown or Cuero High Schools or at the Yorktown or Cuero libraries.

Blue Santa helps 40 local families

With help from local businesses, organizations, and individuals the Blue Santa program assisted 40 families with gifts this Christmas, according to Jason Kuecker of the Cuero Police Department. Cuero Police Department started the Blue Santa program 13 years ago, which now includes Cuero Fire Department, Cuero EMS, and Cuero ISD Student Services.
