Ministry Pastors Stanley and Sara Viquez, Pastor Virginia Maldonado, board members and the Victory family congregation are happy to announce the installation of their new campus Pastors Joe and Yolanda Perez. The ceremony was held on Saturday, July 1. The congregation was also honored to have Mayor Sarah Post-Meyer in attendance to help welcome the couple. Pastor Stanly Viquez said, “This makes us a stronger team and we are ready to serve our city and the surrounding communities.” He continued, “Our mission is to proclaim the victory of Jesus Christ in this area and until the ends of the earth”

Museum rustles up local camp the cowboy way

The Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum presented a summertime Cowboy Camp June 21 to 24 on the museum grounds. Stations were set up to learn how to churn butter and cook biscuits over a fire. There were demonstrations on blacksmithing and leather and wood branding. Another station showed how skim milk was made back before you could buy it at a store. Lastly, the camp included a steer head roping dummy for all ages to try. The free event was educational and fun for potential cowpokes of all ages.

The Sue Taylor residence has been chosen by the Chamber of Commerce as the July Yard of the Month. Her beautiful home and neatly manicured yard made her an obvious choice as this July’s winner.

Jesse Mattox makes early debut

Mr. and Mrs. Seth Mattox of Cuero are pleased to announce the birth of their first child, a son, on May 27 at DeTar Womens and Childrens Hospital in Victoria.. He was given the name Jesse James, weighed 6 pounds and 7 ounces and was 18 inches long.

Cuero Lions Club Eyeglass Program effort

Before local campuses were dismissed for summer break, the Cuero Lions Club handed out over 700 pairs of sunglasses to students to educate them about the organization’s eyeglass program. The Lions Club Eyeglasses Program helps students who need assistance with eye exams and corrective lenses. If a student’s family is unable to financially afford an exam or lenses, the Cuero Lions Club can help pay for them. The program aims to ensure that people around the world have access to proper vision correction, regardless of their financial situation. The program has made a significant impact over the years, providing improved vision and better quality of life to countless individuals.

Hermann Sons Lodge Awards Scholarships

Each year, The Order of the Sons of Hermann accepts applications from any member graduating from high school.
