Texas Retired Teachers Association, TRTA, is pushing for a cost of living increase, COLA. Over 1,000 retired educators converged on the Capitol Wednesday, April 12. YES Reading Challenge of reading 200 books and taking 200 AR tests lead to students being able to pie the Principal. The top AR-point maker for each homeroom was selected as the pie thrower.

The state’s education law, the Texas Administrative Code (TAC), will allow Cuero ISD public school students to obtain credit in a course or grade level by passing tests approved by school district trustees. Texas law, 19 TAC Chapter 74, allows students to “test out of a course” by taking a “Credit by Examination” without prior instruction in the course(s) being tested.
