Teams collect 275 pounds of trash at Litter Challenge

Cuero is 275 pounds cleaner and greener thanks to local teams signing up for this year’s Keep Cuero Beautiful Litter Challenge. The City of Cuero team of Councilman Emil Garza and CFO Connie Hawes who collected 200 pounds along Highway 72 won first place; Boys and Girls Club of Cuero benefits from their work with the $300 winnings being donated to the organization.

The state’s education law, the Texas Administrative Code (TAC), will allow Cuero ISD public school students to obtain credit in a course or grade level by passing tests approved by school district trustees. Texas law, 19 TAC Chapter 74, allows students to “test out of a course” by taking a “Credit by Examination” without prior instruction in the course(s) being tested.

On many occasions during my lifetime I have been bumped into by people accidentally and never thought much about it. Most people, that know me, will tell you I am pretty even tempered, easy to get along with, but will tell you what I think because I am somewhat opinionated. My wife will tell you that the older I get the more opinionated I get!

Yorktown students dominate District UIL meet, head to Regionals

Yorktown Academic Team competed at UIL District 31-2A Contests at Kenedy High School Saturday, March 25, bringing home 23 awards in 11 events which is four more awards than last year. Nine students advanced to Regionals and three others are alternates. Other schools in District 31-2A competing were Port Aransas, Woodsboro, Refugio, Three Rivers, Kenedy and Skidmore-Tynan.

How big does a sin have to be to be noticed by God?

This is an age old question that I have heard many, many times. All of us that walk on this earth think that we can escape the wrath of God because we have little and big sins and we make the call. People I want to tell you that sin is sin and it doesn’t matter the size of it.

Yorktown Junior High Science Fair

Yorktown Junior High hosted their Science Fair on Wednesday, March 8. Eighth graders Claire Person won 1st place, Bryce Chandler won 2nd place, Rylie Krueger won 3rd place and Gracie Stehling won Honorable Mention.
