175 Years: Sesquicentennial Year

The planning for the Sesquicentennial Year (150th Anniversary) began in January of 1998. The celebration started in front of the City Hall building on Eckhardt Street. (That building no longer exists). Addresses were given and the unveiling of window decorations took place.
