April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Child welfare advocates place cutouts, representing the 43 children of De-Witt County in foster care, along Broadway Street in a ceremony on April 1. The 123 blue pinwheels represent the reports of child abuse in 2023. Residents and businesses are asked to shine a blue light in their entryway throughout the month to bring awareness to child abuse prevention.(Staff Photo)
