Garrett Mills, Garrett Lantz, Barrett Smith, Trevor Seals, and Gavin Flessner were part of the Gobbler athletes that went out to Pet Adoptions of Cuero recently to help give the dogs some much needed exercise and attention.
The Gobbler coaches brought out football players to Pet Adoptions of Cuero last week. Over 20 players jumped in to help walk all the large and strong canines for a brisk morning exercise. The dogs really loved all the attention and it looked like some of the guys were already picking out their favorites – maybe some will be adopted?
“This CISD program is such a blessing for the nonprofit shelter and rescue and gives the student-athletes a chance to show their community service spirit as well. The procession of players with 20+ canines along the shoulder of Highway 183 was really a traffic stopper parade. This team is not only winners on the football field but also the walk-a-thon made for lots of happy, happy dogs,” said Linda Anzaldua, president of Pet Adoptions of Cuero.
