After 25 years in education, including the last 20 at Cuero ISD, Paula Brown is ready for her next chapter in life. Retiring from her post as the district’s technology director, Brown has seen waves of advances throughout her time, bu there’s no question it’s the relationships which stand out to her the most.
Born and raised in Cuero, Brown is a Gobbler through and through. She graduated from Cuero High School before marrying Virgil Brown in June of 1981.
Before going into education, she worked at Weber Insurance and had a home daycare while her children, Bradley and Haley, were young. She also worked in the St. Michael’s Catholic School office.
“During this time, I was taking evening classes at Victoria College (VC),” Brown recalled.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Systems from the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) in 1995 then went into her student teaching at Yoakum ISD.
“I wanted to work at Cuero ISD, but there was not a position open in my field,” Brown said. “I worked for five years in Goliad ISD teaching Networking, Computer Applications and Computer Programming, until a position came up in Cuero.”
