Chicora surveys her new surroundings at the Texas Zoo.
The Texas Zoo is pleased to announce the arrival of a new Red wolf.
“Chicora”, a female Red wolf has been transferred from the Ft. Worth Zoo to the Texas Zoo as a companion animal for our male Red wolf, “Ace”.
Red wolves are listed as Critically Endangered and there are currently 267 in captivity and approximately 23 in the wild with a goal of reintroducing more wolves into the wild.
