CHS lends helping hand

Cuero continues to lend a helping hand as nearby cities and school districts recover from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. One such neighboring school district which was heavily impacted was Rockport-Fulton ISD. Despite the torrential damage thrown at the coastal city, the Pirate football team was quickly back on the field.

Heather Wendel, a Gobbler mom, whose family knows the city of Rockport well, saw the destruction on television and how the Pirate football team has already gotten back to work.

Following the storm, much was lost at the school. Wendel saw the story of the Pirates returning to the field during a CBS Evening News report from Sept. 8 and wanted to help.

“It was just eating at me, “ Wendel recalled.
