Many people know the story “The Crucible,” chronicling the Salem Witch Trials in the late 1600s. Cuero High School’s 2018 One Act Play production has delved into its unofficial sequel: “Abigail 1702,” titled for its lead character 10 years after the events of its predecessor.
For the second consecutive year under the leadership of director Amy Arlitt, Cuero’s ensemble advanced to bi-district. Many cast members from last year returned with a few fresh faces. This past Saturday, March 10, Cuero qualified for the area meet, which will be held March 31 in Zapata.
Senior Jessa Knox moved from behind the scenes in last year’s production of “The Bad Seed” to a role in the cast for “Abigail 1702.”
“This year, I’m ensemble, so I’m actually in the show,” she said. “You actually get to dress up. Everyone gets to wear cool costumes.”
