The regular meeting of DeWitt County Commissioners Court took place on Monday, March 14, at 9 a.m.

The first order of business was to authorize Judge Fowler to submit a letter of recommendation encouraging the Region 11 Flood Planning Group to appoint Doug Sethness as a replacement representative of flood districts.

“Beth was a member of this regional planning group in the category of flood districts,” Judge Folwer explained, “and she’s no longer employed by the district. To fill that void, Doug, he’s got his ears tuned to this thing and is seeking the spot to replace her.”

Commissioners then approved a resolution adopting an amendment to In-Service Pension Distribution Plan, changing the age from 70 to 59 and a half. A division order from Magnolia Oil and Gas Operating LLC was received and Judge Folwer was approved to sign the division order.

Discussion took place over whether to continue doing annual commissioners' road reports. Annual road reports are no longer required, but can be beneficial for county records and budgeting. Commissioners Court moved to continue doing the report and scheduled the 2022 report for the July 11 meeting.
