At the Monday, Aug. 8, meeting, the court heard from Boys and Girls Club board members about safety enhancements and also took a record vote on a proposed tax rate.

The court was unanimous in its vote to propose a tax rate of .42243¢ per $100 valuation for the new budget year which begins October 1. That is the first decrease in the tax rate since 2013.

A public hearing has been set for Monday, Aug. 22, at 9 a.m. at the courthouse giving residents the opportunity to hear reasons for adopting the new tax rate for the next budget year.
