Cowboy Claus preparing to help local kids this Christmas

Cowboy Claus, an organization that donates presents to families in need in Yorktown and Nordheim, is once again preparing for Christmas.

“Originally it was Blue Santa,” Lorene Migura, Executive Director of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce, explained. “And it was working together with the Yorktown Police, which we don’t have anymore. There were some problems with it so Western Days took it over. Primarily our funds come from donations, but when we have Western Days, that weekend we have an auction, so the funds raised with that auction go toward Wagon Wheel Charities, and Cowboy Claus is one of those charities.

“What it is, they have to fill out an application, they have to live in Yorktown or Nordheim, and they have to be in the Yorktown school or Nordheim school, or they have to be certified with homeschool.
