Cuero holds July 4 celebration

Cuero celebrated July 4 at the Cuero Public Park pavilion with a Patriots Parade kicking off the day at 9 a.m. Children, adults (and dogs) alike showed their Independence Day spirit by dressing up for the parade and the festivities. Pet Adoptions of Cuero was at the celebration to offer “Smooch a Pooch”, while Spay Neuter Your Pet DeWitt County (SNYPD) had a treasure chest, and Diamond K Services and Energy Waste sponsored a dunk tank for folks to try their hand at.

Blow up bouncy houses kept the children occupied, while the 2019 Miss Cuero Court held a cake walk and sold other snacks. St. Michael’s Catholic Church had a refreshing lemonade stand to beat the heat, with Bucky’s Express Train giving rides around the park. Plenty of other booths were available for families to shop at, plus face-painting by Pet Adoptions of Cuero and entertainment from members of the South Texas Clown Ministry.

All proceeds from the celebration benefited local non-profits.
