Cuero Lube & Tire brings new "change" to city

Edward and Sherry Oakes saw an opportunity in Cuero, and have opened Cuero Lube & Tire at 1000 East Courthouse Street.

“We’re from Cuero, and I’ve been a mechanic all my life,” said Edward. “I also own Engine Service (diesel truck repair), and saw this location as a great place for quick lube service, an oil change service, rotate tires, install new tires, fix flats, state inspection; we’re a Gateway tire dealer, so basically, if you can get it from Discount Tire, you can get it from us.”

That will bring less costly tires to Cuero, according to Edward. “You won’t have to travel all the way to Victoria. A lot of people are traveling to Victoria to get tires fixed and now they won’t have to. I know we already have a tire place here, but everyone benefits when there’s competition.”

“We’re going to be open Saturdays; there’s no one open on Saturday for tires. Whatever tires you need, we’ll have them. Oil changes or state inspections, we’ll be doing those on Saturdays, too.”

Edward and Sherry have done their research. “When you wake up on Saturday, where do you go to get these things done?”

Sherry adds, “When you need these things done, and you work all week, and the only day you have is Saturday, you have to go to Victoria. We’re here to fill that gap.”
