Cuero Regional Hospital adopts tax rate

On September 19, the Cuero Regional Hospital board voted to adopt the tax rate of $0.17940 per $100 valuation, which is a decrease from last year. This new rate will result in a total tax levy of $4,471,467, $343,477 more than last year (2018). At the Board’s monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 26, the 2019-2020 budget was also approved after meeting for a special budget workshop meeting on Sept. 19.
The budget includes a gross revenue of $86,694,289, with total expenditures of $43,425,000, capital expenditures of $6,930,542, with a net income of $5,228,690. Appointments from Chief of Staff Paul Willers, MD., included Daniel Espinosa, MD, hospitalist, Silvestre Ortiz, MD, radiology, Amit Sharma, MD, radiology, Leslie Walters, MD, pathology.
Re-appointments included: Ira Chang, MD, tele-neurology, Christopher Fanale, MD, tele-neurology, Ajay Gaalla MD, cardiology, Chukwuemka Oragwu, MD, emergency medicine, Laura Pacek, PA, family practice, Justin Powell, DO, hospitalist, Byron Spencer, MD, tele-neurology, Jay Tank, MD, tele-radiology, Jeffery Wagner, MD, tele-neurology, Steven Zielinski, MD, NeuroSurgeon, and Brett Zimmerman, MD, emergency medicine.
With the reports read and accepted, the Board moved onto old business, which included approving and accepting the building and gift written policy guidelines. For new business, the Board approved five capital expenditure requests, which included: a request for Smart ABI Capital for $19,000, a request to furnish and install four room pressure monitors for $9,466, a request for 480 volt electrical upgrades for $700,707 with pending legal review, a request for a commercial mower for grounds for $6,239, and a request for chilled water isolation valves and plant BAS modifications for $43,725 pending legal review.
The Board also approved the HUD resolution for Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Corpus Christi.
Before adjourning, the Board moved October’s monthly meeting to noon on October 24.
