Cuero snow day

Dec. 8, 2017 is a day which will remain in the hearts and minds of Cuero citizens, young and old. For the first time since Christmas Eve 2004, snow fell and stuck to the ground just over two weeks before Christmas. Less than a week ago, temperatures reached the 80s, but as south Texas natives know, weather patterns can quickly change here.

School wasn’t canceled or delayed for Cuero ISD, but two young girls enjoyed a snow day: Alexis Reyes and Paisley Walk.

Reyes and Walk were not alive for Cuero’s last snow day 13 years ago, but they were happy to make the most of this year’s winter fun.

“A little of both,” Walk said with a beaming smile when asked about what she enjoyed most between the snow and the day home from school.
