DeWitt County reports 32 additional COVID-19 cases
DeWitt County health officials report that there are thirty-two (32) additional (confirmed) cases of the novel coronavirus. Forty-two (42) additional individuals have recovered. Three (3) additional death is confirmed, but it is unknown if the individual had pre-existing health conditions. The death toll stands at thirty-eight (38).
Eleven (11) patients reported today live in the Cuero zip code. Seven (7) patients live in the Yorktown zip code. Twelve (12) live in the Yoakum zip code. Two (2) patients live in Westhoff zipcode. Due to privacy concerns the county will no longer release demographic information that might lead to the identification of infected individuals.
A total of 877 cases have been diagnosed in DeWitt County since Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of emergency on March 13, 2020. Currently, eighty (80) cases are considered active. Of the total, sixty-seven (67) individuals are isolating at home. Thirteen (13) are considered inpatients of medical facilities. Seven hundred fifty-nine (759) have recovered.
