DeWitt County reports 4 new cases of COVID-19, 1 recovery
DeWitt County health officials are reporting four new cases of coronavirus. All of the individuals are isolated and recovering at home.
Case number 44 is a 47-year-old male with a rural address in the Yoakum zip code. His infection is attributable to household exposure related to out-of-town travel of a family member.
Case number 45 is a 56-year-old female with a rural address in the Cuero zip code. Her infection is attributable to community spread and work-related travel out of the county.
Case number 46 is a 70-year-old male with a rural address in the Yoakum zip code. His exposure is household related.
Case number 47 is a 38-year-old male with a rural address in the Cuero zip code. His infection is attributable to out-of-county community spread and probably work-related.
A total of 47 cases have been diagnosed in DeWitt County since Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of emergency on March 13. Twenty individuals, including these diagnosed cases, are isolating at home. Four are considered inpatients of medical facilities in Victoria. Twenty-two have recovered. One death in the county is attributed to COVID-19 infection of an individual with a comorbidity.
