Morgan Carriger, owner of 110 East Main Street, has owned the property for close to two years, and plans for the building’s future have been in the work since then.

“The building had sat there vacant for a really long time,” Carriger explained, “the building used to be Perry’s, then it was kind of like a variety store, and then it was a furniture store, and that’s the guy I bought it from. It’s actually two different buildings that look like one, and now that the front’s coming off, you can kind of tell that. I actually demoed that building, because it was all messed up.”

The now-demolished part of the building had ceiling leakage damage, so Carriger decided to demo it and leave it as an outdoor part of the property.

“It’s going to be kind of a small event venue, and that area that is open is going to stay open, I’m mainly focusing on doing the inside right now. After I get that going, then I’m going to work on the outdoor area.”

The larger building is approximately 4,000 square feet, and Carriger has been working on restoring the hardware flooring and the ceilings.
