There will be five candidates facing off in the upcoming May 7 election. Randy Saenz has filed as a candidate for mayor as well as Doyle Cruz and Sadie Saenz for council positions.
Current City of Cuero mayor, Sara Post Meyer, has filed for reelection.
The District 2 council position will see Terry Glover (incumbent), Cruz and Saenz vie for the position.
Tony Allen is unopposed for the District 3 council seat.
Cuero ISD and Cuero Regional Hospital current board members were unopposed, so no election will be held.
Applications for a vote-by-mail ballot must be submitted before April 26, and April 7 is the last day to register to vote for the May 7 election.
Early voting will be April 25-29 and May 2-3. On April 25-26, voting will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. On April 27-29 and May 2-3, voting will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Voting will take place at the DeWitt County Annex at 115 North Gonzales, Suite A, Cuero.
Election day date is May 7.
