French Street tree named in honor of Bramlettes

The Cuero Tree Board held a ceremony on April 28 to name an oak tree at 301 E. French Street in honor of JD Bramlette and Merle Rose Bramlette. The Bramlettes purchased Freund Funeral Home in 1946. The couple was active in many civic activities in Cuero. JD was the Grand Sultan of the 1956 Turkey Trot, while Merle was a Cuero ISD educator and was involved in numerous Turkey Trot activities.
