Honoring the fallen

A small group gathered at the Yorktown City park at 5:45 p.m. on Memorial Day, May 31, to participate in a Murph workout. The Murph workout is generally comprised of a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 air squats, then another one-mile run to finish.

The group, consisting of Army Sergeant Chance Crow, his brother, Army Sergeant Josua Crow, Air Force Colonel Lawrence Noel, and their families did a slightly modified version of a Murph, running to the Veteran’s Memorial and doing 100 sit-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 squats before running back to the park, and some members only completed slightly over a half Murph.

The Murph workout, a workout often done on Memorial Day, was the favorite workout of Lt. Murphy and is done to honor him and other veterans.
