Local church to hold fundraiser at the park

On Saturday, March 26, Branded By Jesus Community Church will hold a fundraiser at the park to raise money for a children’s room at the church. The fundraiser will include a free Christian concert from 5-10 p.m., a silent auction, softball tournament, which will take place at the Cuero little league complex, cornhole tournament, plate sale, bake sale, and a raffle. 

“We are a small church, we do have a lot of children, and they love being here, coming to church, listening to the music,” Vanessa Kortz, fundraiser coordinator for the church, explained. “They’re kind of too young to really understand what’s being preached to everybody else, but they enjoy being here. We wanted to give them a room where they can go and learn in terms, in ways that they can understand. That was the whole reason behind everything, and initially, it just started with asking the contractors if they had any leftover material they wanted to donate or anything like that, and then I kind of just was like, we need to do something bigger."
