Main Street Back-to-School Bash
By Anna Noel
The stores of Main Street will be holding a back-to-school bash at the end of the summer to raise school supplies for the community and to celebrate the return to school.
“It started as an idea for a school supply drive.” Amber Pawlik, one of the owners of Fräulein’s Boutique and Home Decor, explained.
“Me and Heather and the other two boutiques were going to get together and do the school supply drive. Well, then we kind of wanted to do it as a community-wide event, so on August 11, from 6-8, we’re going to line Main Street, we’re not going to block it off, but we’re going to have some food trucks parked along, and some other vendors. We have a Mary Kay girl, we have a lady that sells Scentsy, we’re going to have face painting, a husband and wife from Cuero, they’re going to do the clown and face painting and balloon animals. We’re going to do some games, some of the businesses that don’t have a boutique or shopping, we’re going to see about them doing some games and just have fun, just to celebrate the kids being able to go back to school. We’re going to still collect school supplies and then at the end of the week the three of us, we’re going to distribute them to the area towns.”
